The forest was peaceful in the early morning light, with soft rays filtering through the leaves and birds chirping gently in the distance. High up in a sturdy tree, a small family of monkeys rested together. The newborn baby monkey lay safely wrapped in its mother’s arms, tiny and fragile, while the older baby monkey sat nearby, watching everything with wide, curious eyes.
Today was different.
Today, CUTIS had taken on an important role.
The responsibility of caring for the newborn.
CUTIS, known for being clever and attentive, had confidently stepped in, ready to help Mom with the delicate task. After all, caring for a newborn required patience, awareness, and gentle attention.
At first, CUTIS did an excellent job.
The tiny baby monkey rested in a soft bundle of leaves, carefully placed in a warm and secure spot. CUTIS sat close by, occasionally checking on the baby, adjusting its position slightly, making sure it was comfortable and safe.
The older baby monkey watched closely.
It tilted its head, observing every move CUTIS made. There was a sense of curiosity… and a little confusion.
“Is CUTIS really in charge now?”
The baby monkey slowly climbed closer, trying to understand what was happening. It reached out a small hand toward the newborn, then looked back at CUTIS for approval.

CUTIS nodded gently.
Everything seemed calm.
Everything seemed under control.
But then…
Something unexpected happened.
CUTIS slowly lowered itself onto the soft leaves beside the newborn.
At first, it looked like CUTIS was just taking a brief rest.
A short break.
But seconds passed.
Then more seconds.
And then…
Silence.
CUTIS had fallen asleep.
The forest breeze continued to move softly, leaves rustling overhead. The newborn baby monkey made a small sound, shifting slightly in its leafy nest.
But CUTIS didn’t move.
The older baby monkey blinked.
Once.

Twice.
Then tilted its head even further.
“What… just happened?”
It slowly crawled closer, peeking at CUTIS. The newborn was still there, safe but beginning to wiggle a little.
CUTIS remained completely still.
Asleep.
Snoring softly.
The baby monkey sat there, frozen in confusion.
It looked at CUTIS.
Then at the newborn.
Then back at CUTIS.
Was this normal?
Was this part of the plan?
Or had something gone wrong?
The baby monkey scratched its head with one tiny hand, clearly unsure of what to do next.
Meanwhile, the newborn let out a soft sound again.
It needed attention.
It needed care.
But CUTIS… was dreaming.

In its sleep, CUTIS looked peaceful, completely unaware of the situation around it. Its arms were loosely resting on the leaves, its breathing slow and steady.
Completely relaxed.
Too relaxed.
The baby monkey leaned closer, gently poking CUTIS.
No response.
Another poke.
Still nothing.
Now the baby monkey was really confused.
“Hello??”
It made a small sound, trying to wake CUTIS up.
Nothing.
The situation was becoming more and more amusing by the second.
The older baby monkey sat down beside the newborn, glancing back and forth between CUTIS and the tiny baby.
It seemed to be thinking.
Processing.
Maybe even planning.
Then, slowly, it reached out and touched the newborn.
Carefully.
Gently.
It had never done this before.
But in that moment, something clicked.
CUTIS wasn’t helping right now.
So maybe… it needed to step in.
The baby monkey adjusted the soft leaves around the newborn, trying to mimic what it had seen CUTIS do earlier. It wasn’t perfect.
But it was trying.
Meanwhile, CUTIS continued to sleep peacefully, completely unaware that its role had shifted from caretaker to… napper.
The scene was both chaotic and heartwarming.
On one side, a tiny baby monkey receiving care from its slightly confused older sibling.

On the other, CUTIS… deeply asleep.
At that moment, Mom returned.
She climbed up the tree with a calm but alert expression, immediately noticing the situation.
Her eyes moved from the newborn…
To the older baby monkey…
To CUTIS.
And then…
She stopped.
She stared.
Then blinked.
CUTIS was asleep.
Still asleep.
Mom paused for a second.
Then gently reached out and tapped CUTIS.
Once.
Twice.
CUTIS didn’t move.
A third tap.
Finally…
CUTIS woke up.
Slowly.
Groggily.
Confused.
It blinked several times, trying to understand where it was and what was happening.
The newborn let out a small sound.
The baby monkey pointed.
Mom sighed softly.
And then…
The moment became something else entirely.
A mix of relief.
And laughter.
CUTIS quickly realized what had happened. Its eyes widened slightly as it looked around, taking in the situation.
The newborn was okay.
The baby monkey was trying to help.
And Mom was watching.
CUTIS scratched its head in embarrassment, then quickly adjusted its position, sitting upright and paying full attention again.
The baby monkey let out a small sound, almost like a laugh.
Even though it was confused earlier…
Now it seemed amused.
The tension had disappeared.
Everything returned to balance.
Mom gently resumed care of the newborn, while CUTIS stayed nearby—this time fully awake and alert.
And the baby monkey?
It continued watching everything with a new sense of understanding.
Even caretakers get tired.
Even helpers need rest.
But what mattered most…
Was that everyone still cared.
And even in the funniest moments…
Love and connection remained the same.
