The morning started like any other in the small village near the forest—calm, quiet, and full of simple routines. The sun had just begun to rise, casting a warm golden glow over the wooden houses and the narrow dirt paths. Somewhere in the distance, a rooster crowed, and life slowly began to stir.
But inside one particular home, things were already about to get interesting.
CUTIS stood in the corner, holding something very carefully.
A bottle of soy sauce.
Dark, glossy, and slightly heavy in its small hands.
For CUTIS, this wasn’t just any item.
It was treasure.
Earlier that morning, CUTIS had discovered the bottle left unattended on a low table. At first, it simply observed it—tilting its head, curious about the strange smell and the dark liquid inside.
Then, after a quick glance around…
CUTIS decided.
This was worth taking.
Quietly, carefully, CUTIS picked up the bottle, gripping it tightly as if it might slip away at any moment. It tested the weight, adjusted its grip, and then slowly stepped back.
Everything was going smoothly.

Until…
A voice.
“CUTIS!!”
The sudden call broke the silence.
CUTIS froze.
Then slowly turned its head.
There, standing at the doorway, was Mom.
Hands on hips.
Eyebrows raised.
She had seen everything.
CUTIS blinked.
Once.
Twice.
Then, without warning…
It ran.
Fast.

Holding the soy sauce bottle tightly, CUTIS dashed out of the house and into the open yard. Its small feet pounded against the ground as it moved quickly, trying to escape the unexpected confrontation.
Behind it, Mom followed.
“HEY! Come back here!”
The chase had begun.
CUTIS ran as fast as it could, clutching the bottle like it was the most important thing in the world. The soy sauce sloshed slightly inside, but miraculously, it didn’t spill.
That only made CUTIS run faster.
Because now, it wasn’t just about getting caught.
It was about protecting the treasure.
Behind, the older baby monkey appeared at the doorway, watching the scene unfold with wide, confused eyes.
“What is happening?”
CUTIS darted around a tree.
Then another.
It zigzagged through the yard, trying to lose Mom, who was surprisingly quick herself.
“CUTIS! Stop running!”
But CUTIS had other plans.
It leapt over a small log, nearly losing its balance, but somehow kept going. The soy sauce bottle remained firmly in its grip, as if glued there.
This was no ordinary escape.

This was a mission.
Meanwhile, the baby monkey tilted its head, watching the entire situation like it was watching the funniest show in the world.
CUTIS kept running.
Mom kept chasing.
And the soy sauce…
Stayed safe.
For now.
But eventually, something unexpected happened.
CUTIS slowed down.
Just for a moment.
Not because it was tired…
But because it realized something important.
Mom wasn’t chasing it to be mean.
She wasn’t angry.
She was concerned.
And maybe…
A little amused.
CUTIS looked back.
Mom had stopped running.

She was standing there now, arms crossed, trying to hold back a smile.
“Give it back,” she said, her voice softer now.
CUTIS hesitated.
Looked at the bottle.
Then at Mom.
Then back at the bottle again.
It seemed like a difficult decision.
Because from CUTIS’s perspective…
This soy sauce was valuable.
Important.
Maybe even delicious.
But something in Mom’s expression made CUTIS pause.
Slowly…
CUTIS took a few steps forward.
Not running this time.
Just walking.
Carefully.
Then, very gently…
It placed the soy sauce bottle on the ground.
And stepped back.
Mom relaxed.
The tension disappeared.
The moment didn’t end in punishment.
It ended in understanding.

Mom walked over, picked up the bottle, and gave CUTIS a light pat on the head.
“Next time… just ask,” she said with a small smile.
CUTIS nodded.
Looking a little embarrassed…
But also relieved.
The baby monkey, still watching from a distance, suddenly burst into a tiny playful movement, as if reacting to the whole scene.
It seemed to understand one thing very clearly:
CUTIS had tried to run away…
But in the end…
It couldn’t outrun Mom.
And more importantly…
It didn’t need to.
Because this wasn’t really about the soy sauce.
It was about curiosity.
About learning.
About boundaries.
And about growing up.

CUTIS slowly walked back toward the house, occasionally glancing at Mom, as if checking whether it was still in trouble.
But Mom just shook her head slightly.
No anger.
Just understanding.
And maybe…
A little laughter.
Because sometimes, even in the most ordinary moments…
Something funny happens.
And in this case…
CUTIS didn’t just run away with the soy sauce.
It ran into a small but important lesson:
Not everything taken…
Is meant to be kept.
And sometimes…
The best thing you can do…
Is just stop running.
